Skin Picking Disorder (Dermatillomania) and Hair-Pulling Disorder (Trichotillomania) are more common than you might realise. Approximately 5% of people, and possibly even more, struggle with Body-Focused-Repetitive-Behaviours (BFRB’s). However, many suffer in silence, often masking their struggles with make-up, clothing, wigs, or hats, as they may feel ashamed.

These behaviors can serve as coping mechanisms for stress, anxiety, or intense emotions, providing a sense of relief. The visible scars, lesions, or bald patches often reveal your struggle to others.
